The Southern Gentlemen Barbershop Group
performing at one of the Nursing Centers in
New Bern, North Carolina
Russ Erwin, the original founder of the New Bern
Barbershop Chorus more than 25 years ago. His
sister, LaVerne, who was visiting the area, was in-
vited to a performance of one of the area facilities.
At one point, Russ had a surprise for
his sister. The group sang "Heart of
my Heart!" a popular Barbershop song
to her. She was very touched by this!
